Abstract

ABSTRACT
In this study, the tensile force requirement, to separate the grain paddy was measured. The velocities of grain paddy it 100, 200, 300, 400, and 500 mm/min, and force requirement to failure stem at 100, 300, and 500 mm/min velocities was measured by using instron device. The data was analyzed using a completely randomized design. The results showed that velocity had a significant effect on the requirement force to separate the paddy grain and failure stem. With an increase in tensile velocity from 100 to 500 mm/min, the requirement force to separate the paddy grain decreased from 4.77 to 1.09 N and the requirement force to failure stem decreased from 33.43 to 8.41N. Also, the normal stress acting to stem due requirement force to separate the grain was calculated. And the ultimate stress (Rupture stress) of stem due the requirement force to failure the stem was calculated.
